Statement of Nawaz's sister-in-law recorded in dowry dispute

Statement of film actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui's sister-in-law, who accused him and his family members of harassing her for dowry, was recorded here today.
Police this evening recorded the statement of Afrin, wife of Minazuddin, brother of Nawazuddin, in connection with her complaint of harassment for dowry, SHO of women police station, Mamta Goutam said.
Afrin on September 30 had alleged that her husband, brothers-in-law Nawazuddin, Faizuddin, Majuddin and sister-in-law Saima were harassing her for dowry, while the actor has refuted the allegation saying she has done it for publicity.
She had also alleged that she was tortured and kicked by the accused.

The SHO said that the victim has not submitted any documentry evidence or any medical report to support her allegations.
Nawazuddin had produced CCTV footage in his defence.
"It is only a matter of family dispute which can be resolved by mediation," the SHO said.
