# Virat Kohli became the third Indian skipper to amass 1000 runs or more in a calendar year - 1112 runs (ave.79.42) in 11 Tests. He has joined Rahul Dravid - 1095 runs (ave.60.83) in 12 Tests in 2006 and Sachin Tendulkar - 1000 runs (ave.62.50) in 12 Tests in 1997.
# Kohli, for the first time, has managed 1,000 runs or more in a calendar year in Tests - his previous best aggregate being 847 (ave.44.57) in 10 Tests in 2014. Rahul Dravid was the last Indian batsman to amass 1000 runs in a calendar year - 1145 runs at an average of 57.25 in 12 Tests in 2011.

# Kohli became the fourth batsman to complete 1,000 runs or more this year, joining Jonny Bairstow (1369), Joe Root (1306) and Alastair Cook (1193).
# Kohli became the 14th Indian batsman to amass 4,000 runs or more in Tests - his tally being 4106 (ave.50.07) in 52 Tests, including 15 hundreds and 14 fifties.

# Kohli is averaging 50-plus for the first time in Tests and became the first player to achieve the average of 50-plus in all three formats - Tests, ODIs and T20Is.

# Murali Vijay's 136 is his eighth century in Tests - his third vs England.

# Kohli is the second Indian batsman to hit double
century against Bangladesh - the first being Sachin Tendulkar - 248 not out at Dhaka in December 2004.
