The 49-year-old actor will feature in the Channel 4 show, which has been adapted from the Emmy-nominated series "Web Therapy", co-created by "Friends" star Lisa Kudrow, reported RadioTimes.
Mangan stars as Dr Richard Pitt, a psychotherapist with a erratic professional career whose personal life is also starting to crumble down.
The six-part show will follow lively conservations with the patients, while also depicting the daily interruptions of a demanding extended family, errant teenagers and Pitt's own trouble-filled past.
Talking about the show, Mangan says, "People are complex and complicated and they lead messy, knotty lives. We've tried to put some of that all-too-familiar turmoil onscreen and the result, I think, is chaotic, glorious and disturbing."
