Holland will run the writers' room and will work closely with executive producers Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro on the series, reported Variety.
Lorre and Molaro, who had been running the "Big Bang Theory" since season six, will both continue to oversee the hit comedy.
The duo has also co-written and executive produced an upcoming spin-off from the show, "Young Sheldon", which is scheduled to premier on November 2, 2017, with Molaro serving as showrunner.
Holland first joined the "Big Bang Theory" in 2009 for season three, and became an executive producer last year during the 2016-2017 season.
