The previous high for stock futures was Rs 88,961.55 crore on July 26, while for stock options it was Rs 41,503.57 crore on July 15, according to data provided by the stock exchange.
Overall, the equity derivative segment on NSE today recorded a turnover of Rs 6.86 lakh crore.
Turnover for index options stood at Rs 5.19 lakh crore, while it was Rs 30,478.71 crore for index futures.
The exchange has seen trades worth Rs 242.45 lakh crore, so far in the current fiscal. Of this, Rs 57.57 lakh crore has been recorded in July, till date.
Further, NSE was rated as the top bourse among its global peers in terms of number of stock index options contracts traded in 2015.
It was also among the top 10 for the number of trades in single stock options contracts (9th position) and single stock futures contracts (2nd) and stock index futures contracts (6th).
