Stolen idol recovered after 7 years

A black stone idol of Lord Shiva was recovered today from Rajar Bagan in Krishnagar town, seven years after it was stolen from a temple.
The police said the 300-year-old idol was recovered last night.
The idol was stolen from Anandamoyeetala Kali Bari here on 22 November in 2007.
After getting information that it was kept in the house of Babu Singh, the police raided his home and recovered the statue.
Babu Singh has been absconding, the police said.
