Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today asked Congress to desist from making "misleading comments" on the sensitive issue of national security, saying the Centre and the security forces know how to tackle the country's enemies.
"Every second leader of the Congress is talking like an international expert on national security, saying had this been done, the terrorists would not have entered Pathankot (or), had that been done, there would not have been an attack on national security," Naqvi told a press conference here.
"India's safety and dignity is the priority of the entire nation. The security of the country is in strong hands," said Naqvi, the Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs.
Asking the Congress to not try to become an "international expert on national security", he charged that analysis by such "ignorant analysts worsens the situation".
"The entire world is with India and the evil forces who are sponsors of terrorism have been isolated... It is unfortunate that when the entire country is talking in one voice against terrorism, some Congress leaders are irresponsibly engaged in a political campaign to create confusion even on such serious issues," Naqvi said.
The Narendra Modi government and the security forces are working with strong nationalistic commitment on the issues of national security and terrorism, he added.
Congress should "stop its misleading comments" on sensitive issues of national security, Naqvi further said in his strong reaction over Congress's comments in the wake of the Pathankot terror attack.
