Sources said officials found there was no need of changing tiles on the ramp of the foot overbridge on the Vikas Marg as they were in a "good condition".
"Chief Engineer along with his team inspected the ramp and he will submit his report later this week," said a senior Delhi government official.
BJP leaders have alleged the renovation work was undertaken despite the overbridge being in a good shape.
BJP MP Maheish Girri has written to Lt Governor Anil Baijal on the matter.
Girri in his complaint demanded action be taken against the officials responsible for "misuse of public funds" in "avoidable" renovation work.
Delhi BJP Manoj Tiwari also visited the overbridge today and alleged "corruption" in the renovation work.
The anti-skid chequered tiles in "very good condition" are being removed and replaced by granite-marble slabs, he said after visiting the overbridge.
The renovation work going on owes reply from minister Satyendra Jain and secretary of the department, Tiwari said.
"They owe a reply to the people of Delhi. We will raise this matter before the Lt Governor," he added.
