Student attacked by classmate in NIT Durgapur

A second-year student of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Durgapur was allegedly attacked by his classmate with a knife when he prevented him from ragging first year students, police sources said today.
Kaushal Kishore Meena, second-year electrical engineering student attacked Tapas Sharma, a second year Biotechnology student with a knife last night when he prevented Meena from ragging first year students, the sources said.
Sharma has been admitted to hospital with injuries while Meena has been arrested by police, they said.
Registrar of NIT Durgapur P S Sandhu said that police are investigating the matter.
