Student's death: Family seeks Irani's intervention

The aggrieved parents of 6-year-old Devansh today approached HRD minister Smriti Irani seeking her intervention for a CBI probe into the death of the boy whose body was found in a reservoir at a private school here.
In a letter to Irani, they alleged there was a "conspiracy" behind the incident and demanded action against the school management.
"Devansh's death was too suspicious and the reasons are still not cleared by school authorities. I am sure about some conspiracy against my child.
"Being a father, I just request you to please try to hand over this case to CBI so that proper investigations can be made in this case, otherwise I know this case would suppressed by the school administration," Devansh's father Ramheet Meena said in a letter to the Human Resource Development Minister that was also sent to the Prime Minister's Office.

"Hoping for justice for my child through your cooperation, I also demand action against the school management," he added.
Meena had yesterday alleged that Devansh was sexually assaulted before being done to death and that there were injury marks on his private parts, a charge discounted by the police citing preliminary reports.

Devansh, a class I student of Ryan International school in Vasant Kunj area, was found dead in a water tank under the school's amphitheatre on 30 January following which Delhi government had ordered a magisterial probe into the case.
The family had last week also written to Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who today said that the city government would recommend a CBI inquiry into it.

Sisodia, who had met the family at their residence in Sultanpur area, had also said that the magisterial probe into Devansh's death indicated a "heinous crime" and that the investigation so far has "ignored" the observations of the child's parents.
