Student seeks action against school for demanding Rs 1 lakh

A girl student along with her parents today sat on a dharna in the Collectorate premises here seeking legal action against a private school for allegedly demanding Rs one lakh for issuing her Transfer Certificate, police said.
The girl had passed SSLC and when she applied for TC from Sakthividyalaya Higher Secondary School in Annur, some 35 Kms from here, the school management demanded Rs one lakh, she alleged.
They ended the dharna following assurance from the authorities that the matter would be looked into.
School management was not available for their comments.
