The incident occurred in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Bulandshahr, run under the Union HRD Ministry, on Saturday night.
Syana SDM Sanjay Pandey said the school principal, Raj Singh, on Saturday night rusticated four students for allegedly ragging the Class 10 student hailing from Assam.
Enraged by the action, the accused students along with their schoolmates went on a rampage on the premises and damaged vehicles of the staff including the principal's car, he said.
No case has been registered in the matter yet, the SDM said.
Meanwhile, the school administration has declared a week-long holiday for Class 11 and 12 students in view of the situation in the campus, the officer said.
