Subramania Bharathiar remembered

Puducherry Electricity Minister of Puducherry T Thiagarajan accompanied by MLAs and members of various organisations paid homage at the statue of great Tamil poet Subramania Bharathiar on the occasion of his 93rd death anniversary today.
Bharathiar had political asylum in Puducherry which was under French rule for 11 years from 1909 and penned several poems including "Paanjali Sabatham".
Puducherry Administration acquired in 1973 the house where the poet resided in Easwaran koil street and housed a Memorial and Research centre.
