Sugar drops on higher supply, weak demand

Sugar prices dropped at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to subdued demand from stockists and retailers on the back of higher supplies from mills.
Medium sugar (M-30) slumped by Rs 40/10 per quintal to Rs 3,282/3,472 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 3,322/ 3,482.
Small sugar (S-30) also fell by Rs 20/23 per quintal to Rs 3,192/3,292 as compared to Rs 3,212/3,315.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,282/3,472 (Rs 3,322/3,482).
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,192/3,292 (Rs 3,212/3,315).
