Sugar prices decline on weak demand, ample stocks

Sugar prices fell by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following faltered demand from stockists and bulk consumers amid mounting stocks on uninterrupted supplies from mills.
According to marketmen, ample stocks following unabated supplies from mills coupled with limited offtake by stockists and bulk consumers such as soft-drink and ice-cream makers, led to the fall in downfall in sweetener prices.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices quoted lower by Rs 50 each to end the day at Rs 3,950-4,050 and Rs 3,940-4,040 per quintal.
In a similar way, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices were lower by Rs 40 each to settle at Rs 3,630-3,800 and Rs 3,620- 3,790 per quintal.
In the mill gate section, sugar Chandpur dropped by Rs 50 to Rs 3,640, Kinnoni and Dhanora declined by Rs 40 each to Rs 3,800 and Rs 3,700 per quintal.
Sugar Dhampur and Sakoti lost Rs 30 each to both conclude at Rs 3,660 each, while Khatuli and Shamili slipped by Rs 25 each to Rs 3,750 and Rs 3,675 per quintal.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 39.00-43.00 per kg.
Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,950-4,050, S-30 Rs 3,940-4,040.
Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,630-3,800, S-30 Rs 3,620-3,790.
Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs N.Q., Kinnoni Rs 3,800, Asmoli Rs 3,740, Dorala Rs 3,720, Budhana Rs 3,710, Thanabhavan Rs 3,705, Dhanora Rs 3,700, Simbholi Rs 3,790, Khatuli Rs 3750, Dhampur Rs 3,660, Ramala Rs 3,640, Anupshaher Rs 3,620, Baghpat Rs 3,650, Morna Rs 3,645, Sakoti Rs 3,660, Chandpur Rs 3,640, Nazibabad Rs 3,630, Modinagar N.Q., Shamli 3,675 and Nanota 3,650.
