Sugar prices decline on weak demand, higher supply

Sugar prices were down by Rs 40 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today due to subdued demand amid higher supplies.
Marketmen said slackened demand from stockists and bulk consumers such as soft-drink and ice-cream makers due to the month end amid increased arrivals from mills mainly pulled down the sweetener prices.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices drifted lower by Rs 40 each to end the day at Rs 3,820-3,870 and Rs 3,810-3,860 per quintal.
Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 also traded lower by Rs 35 each to finish at Rs 3,560-3,625 and Rs 3,550-3,615 per quintal respectively.
Coming to the mill gate section, sugar Asmoli, Khatuli and Modinagar, fell by Rs 40 each to Rs 3,600, Rs 3,610 and Rs 3,560, while Kinnoni lost Rs 35 to Rs 3,625 and Simbholi by Rs 30 to Rs 3,610 per quintal, respectively.
Similarly, sugar Dorala dropped by Rs 25 to Rs 3,575, followed by Mawana, Chandpur and Thanabhavan by Rs 20 each to Rs 3,580, Rs 3,560 and Rs 3,580 per quintal respectively.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 39.00-43.00 per kg.
Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,820-3,870, S-30 Rs 3,810-3,860.
Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,560-3,625, S-30 Rs 3,550-3,615.
Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,580, Kinnoni Rs 3,625, Asmoli Rs 3,600, Dorala Rs 3,575, Budhana Rs 3,585,Thanabhavan Rs 3,580, Dhanora Rs 3,620, Simbholi Rs 3,610, Khatuli Rs 3,610, Dhampur Rs 3,600, Ramala Rs 3,575, Anupshaher Rs 3,565, Baghpat Rs 3,580, Morna Rs 3,575, Sakoti Rs 3,570, Chandpur Rs 3,560, Nazibabad Rs 3,580 and Modinagar 3,560.
