Sugar prices end mixed

Prices of small sugar surge on good offtake from stockists and retailers, while Medium variety dropped due to reduced demand.

Small sugar (S-30) gained by Rs 10/14 per quintal to Rs 3,442/3,506 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 3,432/3,492.

Medium sugar (M-30) slipped by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 3,486/3,701 as against Rs 3,496/3,701 previously.

The following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,442/3,506 (Rs 3,432/3,492).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,486/3,701 (Rs 3,496/3,701).
