Sugar rallies on heavy stockists offtake, seasonal support

Sugar prices rallied further at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to sustained demand from bulk consumers in the face of restricted arrivals.
Medium sugar (M-30) surged by Rs 72/56 per quintal to Rs 2,592/2,736 from last Saturday's level of Rs 2,520/2,680.
Small sugar (S-30) also shot-up by Rs 40/52 per quintal to Rs 2,540/2,622 as compared to Rs 2,500/2,570 previously.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,592/2,736 (Rs 2,520/2,680.
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,540/2,622 (Rs 2,500/2,570).
