Sugar spurts on persistent demand

Both varieties of sugar continued to climb at the Vashi wholesale market here today on heavy stockists and millers offtake in the midst of persistent seasonal buying as well as rising export demand.
Medium sugar (M-30) rallied by Rs 30/20 to Rs 3,122/ 3,202 from Thursday's close of Rs 3,092/3,182.
Small Sugar (S-30) advanced Rs 30/90 Rs 3,012/3,162 from Rs 2,982/3,072.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,012/3,162 (Rs 2,982/3,072).
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,122/3,202 (Rs 3,092/3,182).
