Sugar strengthens on export offtake

Prices of both varieties of sugar, medium and small, strengthened further at the Vashi wholesale market here today on sustained stockists' demand as well as good export offtake.
Medium sugar (M-30) advanced by Rs 10/30 per quintal to Rs 2,466/2,582 from Monday's level of Rs 2,456/2,552.
Small sugar (S-30) also gained by Rs 18/12 per quintal to Rs 2,380/2,482 compared to Rs 2,362/2,470 previously.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,380/2,482 (Rs 2,362/2,470).
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,466/2,582 (Rs 2,456/2,552).
