Sukhbir met with Lopon Dera chief Sant Baba Jagjit Singh where he was presented with a robe of honour, Dera officials said, adding Sukhbir was accompanied by Punjab Minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, among others.
Later, Sukhbir told reporters he had directed all the district police chiefs to intensify night patrolling in the towns and villages to check any incidents of sacrilege.
Commenting on recent incidents of sacrilege, the Deputy CM said the state government was committed to preserve peace, communal harmony and uphold the rule of law in the state.
