He will come on board effective June 22, 2015, it said in a filing.
He joins Whirlpool from PepsiCo, where he was the Head of VIMAPS Business Unit based out of Malaysia, it added.

In his 15 years with PepsiCo, D'Souza has held various senior management positions in Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam and India.

One of the world's largest consumer durables firms, Whirlpool had about $20 billion in annual sales, 100,000 employees and 70 manufacturing and technology research centres globally in 2014.
