The FIR which was filed at Shivajinagar police station by an RTI activist on July 21 alleged that the accused connived to fraudulently claim government land as "soil grant entitlement" in the name of a city-based trust to extract various permissions as well as concessions, by misrepresenting it as a registered public charitable trust in 1989.
It alleged that this was done to utilise it for commercial purposes.
The case was registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. The activist had initially approached the divisional revenue commissioner with a written complaint in the matter on December 13, 2013.
