Supportive life-partner important for career-oriented women

Career-oriented women should give importance while selecting their life partners as it is critical for their future goals, feels some of the greatest women achievers of the country.
HSBC India chairman and director Naina Lal Kidwai today advised that career women should be careful in choosing their life partners who would share her dreams and accommodate the constraints associated with a working women.
"I did not have a choice. I think one should give importance in choosing their partner," she said at a panel discussion on the launch of the book '30 women in power: Their voices, Their Stories' edited by Kidwai.

The discussion was organised by FICCI Ladies Organisation and participated by Intel India MD and South Asia VP (sales & marketing) Debjani Ghosh, Facebook India managing director Krithiga Reddy, who shared their views on women empowerment.
All the panelists shared the view that a favourable family support system and understanding partner are important for a career women to focus on their goals.
Ghosh said at times a trade-off has to be made, while Reddy said family support was important even if someone is determined.
The book comprises narratives of 30 of the country's greatest women achievers.
