Suspected Maoists today set four bauxite-laden trucks on fire near Sudikona village under Bishunpur police station in Gumla district, a police officer said.
The incident occurred a day before CPI(Maoist) enforces Jharkhand Bandh tomorrow to press for the release of Maoist prisoners who have completed their terms.
The armed ultras intercepted the trucks, drove away the drivers and set them on fire in the afternoon, Gumla SDPO Deepak Kumar Pandey told newsmen.
He said the Maoists were suspected to be involved in the incident.
