Suspected militants snatch rifles from police in Srinagar

Suspected militants tonight snatched three rifles from police personnel at a guard post in Dalgate area here, officials said.

The ultras targeted a police post in the tourist hub of Dalgate area and decamped with three service rifles of the cops, a police official said.

Security forces have cordoned off the area to track down the attackers, the official said, adding further details of the incident were awaited.

This is second incident of rifle snatching in the city since yesterday. Suspected militants decamped with a rifle of a cop in Hazratbal area outside the Kashmir University.
