The legislators, who came in the morning to enter the Assembly compound, were stopped by security personnel as they were suspended for the Winter Session.
Police then forcibly took them away from the gate as they were blocking and raising slogans against the government and Speaker Pranab Kumar Gogoi.
The MLAs were later released after being kept in preventive custody for sometime.
They alleged that the Speaker's decision to suspend them was an influenced one.
On the first day of the Winter Session yesterday, five BJP MLAs and seven rebel Congress members, who had joined the opposition party recently, were suspended from Assam Assembly for the entire Session for disobeying the Speaker's ruling and creating noisy scene in the Well of the House.
