Suspended SI commits suicide

A police sub-inspector, who was under suspension, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in his official quarter at the State Police Reserve here today.
Madan Basumatary was found hanging in the verandah of his house at about 9.30 AM, SP (City) Vivek Syiem said.
Basumatary had recently been arrested and suspended from service for allegedly molesting a woman at the police reserve, the SP said.
