Jammu and Kashmir State Vigilance Commission today issued a show cause notice to additional Deputy Commissioner of Doda for not taking action on a complaint alleging misuse of government funds.
The complaint was filed by a Paryote resident who alleged huge amounts were withdrawn from the government exchequer from time to time for payments of "non-existing and fictitious works" during the financial year, 2011-2012.
Some officials of Rural Development Department at Block Marmat including a Village Level Worker (VLW), were allegedly involved in the "enormous loss to the state exchequer," an SVC officer said today.
The State Vigilance Commission had then directed the Doda Additional Deputy Commissioner to conduct an enquiry and submit status report before it, the officer said.
But despite, several notices issued to the Deputy Commissioner as well as Additional Deputy Commissioner for submission of status report in the matter, they didn't bother to hold an enquiry nor submitted the requisite report thereof before the Commission, the officer said.
The SVC while taking serious note of the issue and dishonouring of orders passed by it, directed the Doda Deputy Commissioner to ensure presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner before the Commission on February 19 along with the requisite report including reply to a show cause notice already issued to him by the Commission.
