SW monsoon normal over eastern, active in western UP

South-west monsoon has been normal over eastern and active over western parts of Uttar Pradesh (UP), MeT department officials said today.
Light to moderate rain and thundershowers occurred at few places in eastern UP districts and at many places in western UP. Heavy to very heavy rainfall was experienced at isolated places, said officials.
While Moradabad received 18cms of rainfall, Gautam Budh Nagar and Sandila received 15cms amd 9cms respectively. Sidhauli, Hasanpur(t) and Iglas received 8cms each and Mathura, Thakurdwara and Shahjahanpur 5 cms each, MeT officials said.
The MeT department has forecast rain and thundershowers at isolated places over western UP.
