T'gana civic official held for 'disproportionate assets'

An official of Adilabad Municipality was today arrested by Telangana ACB for allegedly amassing Rs 4.39 crore assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
P Kondal Rao, Deputy Executive Engineer of Adilabad Municipality in Adilabaddistrict was arrested following searches, a statement issued by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) said.
A case of disproportionate assets was registered against Rao and simultaneous searches were conducted at his residence and other places.
"During the searches, it came to light that the official had acquired five houses and two plots at different locations. He also acquired over seven acres of agriculture land and other movable and immovable properties in his or family members' names," it said.

The document value of the properties is approximately Rs 4.39 crore, while the market value is approximately Rs 6 crore, the ACB said.
The case is under investigation.
