The Speaker of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta, today asked the government to take appropriate action for minimising the intrusion of wild animals in residential areas in both the divisions of the state.
The directions were passed after MLA Usman Majid raised the issue in the House during Zero Hour.
Majid asked the government to take steps for tackling monkey menace in Ayat Mullah and Aham Sharief villages in Bandipora district.
He was later joined by other legislators who expressed concern over the rising attacks by monkeys and other animals on the local population and urged government to take appropriate measures to check the nuisances.
