Take action against panchayat secretaries not handing over

Punjab minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa today directed officials to take action against panchayat secretaries who are yet to handover records to their successors after transfer.
In a meeting with senior officers, it has been decided to issue directions in this regard to the all those concerned, the panchayat and rural development minister said.
The Director of the Rural Development and Panchayat Department, Siban C, has instructed officials that panchayat secretaries after their transfer to other blocks must handover records of gram panchayats to their successors within three days.
It has also been directed that if instructions are not followed, then departmental action should be initiated and a criminal complaint should be lodged, Bajwa said.
