Government should take immediate steps to deal with Ebola and inform Parliament about preparedness to deal with the disease, a Trinamool Congress member today said in Lok Sabha.
Dinesh Trivedi, a former Union minister of state for health, wanted to know about the core capacity of laboratories to diagnose Ebola, which is spreading in the country.
He also said awareness must be created about the disease to prevent panic among people.
Quoting reports, Trivedi said the protocol issued by the ministry for screening passengers have not been implemented fully. Only 2 out of 14 airports have isolation facilities and hospital staff have been found lacking in training.
