The Left party also announced statewide protests on October 3, demanding chief minister K Palaniswami's resignation.
"The political situation in Tamil Nadu has been deteriorating. It is going from bad to worse. The BJP is fairly responsible for the (recent) developments in the state. They are trying to fish in troubled waters," CPI general secretary S Sudhakar Reddy told reporters here.
Hitting out at the ruling AIADMK in the southern state, he claimed that the government led by the party had "lost its credibility" and that the chief minister had no moral right to continue in office.
CPI national secretary D Raja said the party would stage protests at all the district headquarters of the state on October 3, seeking Palaniswami's resignation.
Reddy slammed the Centre over demonetisation, which he said had resulted in the GDP falling by about two per cent.
On the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime, he said there was "confusion" about it among the industries and the common man.
The CPI leaders were here to participate in the two-day meeting of the party's state executive council.
