The former Union Minister presented the Tamil version of 'Pranab Mukherjee: The All Season Man' to the President on his birthday on Tuesday. Ponnuswamy has translated the book originally authored by Sukhendu Sekar Ray in 2009.
The book titled 'Maamanidhar Pranab Mukherjee - Panmuga Saadhanaiyaalar', was released by the President on his birthday on December 11, a statement said today.
It is a compilation of 66 first person accounts by eminent people who have known him closely, including UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, former Lok Sabha Speaker, Somnath Chatterjee, senior BJP leader L K Advani and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee.
The book treasures the President's speeches in 15 titles including the Indo-US nuclear deal, 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attack in 2008, India's foreign policy and bilateral relationships.
It also features the President's life history and 330 rare photographs capturing significant moments of his political life.
Speaking on the occasion, Ponnuswamy had said this is the first book in Tamil on the President.
