BJP president Amit Shah today condoled the demise of Chhattisgarh Governor Balram Dass Tandon and said he devoted his entire life to social work and was a leader with influential personality.
Tandon, a former BJP leader with roots in Punjab, died at a hospital in Raipur at the age of 90.
He was one of the founding members of Jan Sangh, and dedicated his entire life for the welfare of the society, Shah said.
"Tandonji actively participated in social and public activities and was very popular among people in Punjab. He selflessly worked for the nation and the organisation, his demise is an irreparable loss for the party," the BJP chief said.
Tandon, who had been with the RSS, was a former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab.
