A tantrik and a married couple have been arrested for allegedly raping a businessman's wife and using the video clip of the incident to blackmail and threaten her.
The three accused identified as Aman alias Zafar Imam (40), his wife Geeta alias Nigar Sultana (28) and Pratap Parcha (45) were arrested by the team of Eastern Range of Crime Branch on Tuesday.
The gang came under police scanner when a businessman made a complaint that Parcha, who is a tantrik had suggested the name of Aman as an import/export businessman who dealt in chinese articles.
"The complainant agreed to do business with him and deposited Rs 10 lakh with Aman. Some money was deposited in the account given by Aman. Later, the complainant came to know that the said account is in the name of "Zafar Imam". Aman also confirmed later that his name is Zafar Imam, police said.
"In the meantime, the complainant fell ill and was hospitalized. Aman and his wife Geeta went to see the complainant in the hospital. Later, there were frequent visits between the two families at each other's house," said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav.
One day the complainant's wife went to Geeta's boutique at Seeta Ram Bazar where Aman offered to have coffee with her at KVM Guest house at Pahar Ganj.
After drinking coffee, she fell unconscious. Later she found that she had been raped by Aman and he had also recorded the whole thing. Later, Aman started blackmailing her and continued to exploit her. Geeta also helped her husband in blackmailing her, said Yadav.
They threatened the victim against reporting the matter to the police. They also pasted obscene photographs of the victim near her residence following which the businessman was compelled to approach police.
