Tantrik arrested for looting, harassing woman

A 40-year-old tantrik was arrested here for allegedly trying to outrage the modesty of a woman and rob her of jewellery and cash worth Rs 28,100 on the pretext of bringing her father back to India from Canada.
The accused has been identified as Zulfikar, a native of Uttar Pradesh.
On November 2, the complainant saw an advertisement in a leading newspaper and called up on the mobile number given there.
"The complainant called up on the number and she was asked to go to their office at Gali Hakim Wali in Darya Ganj. When she reached there on November 3, she was induced and an illusion was created that tantrik Zulfikar knows everything about her family members.

"The accused on the first day took Rs 7,100 from her. Next day, he again called her and demanded Rs 21,000 and sacrifice of three goats to get her father back from Canada. He further demanded gold chain and two gold rings which the complainant wore.
"On November 6, when the complainant visited him again, he tried to outrage her modesty following which she got afraid and went back home and narrated every ting to her mother. She then reported the matter to police," said a senior police officer.
A police team immediately raided the area and arrested Zulfikar. When interrogated, Zulfikar confessed to the crime and told that by showing some magical tricks he enticed people and cheated them.
