Senior NCP leader Tariq Anwar today strongly condemned Bihar minister Abdul Jalil Mastan's uncharitable remarks in which he asked a crowd to hit with shoes the photograph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"This (remarks by the minister against the PM) is completely wrong. I condemn such act and incident as no one should indulge in any indecent act against those holding constitutional post," the Nationalist Congress Party leader told reporters here.
Mastan, Bihar's Prohibition, Excise and Registration Minister Abdul Jalil Mastan had allegedly made uncharitable remarks against the PM Narendra Modi on February 22 in his Amour Assembly constituency in Purnea district.
Mastan had asked the crowd at a note ban protest to hit with shoes the photograph of the Prime Minister.
Stating that some BJP leaders like Union minister Giriraj Singh are not also flawless either (doodh ke dhule nahi hain), Anwar said these leaders quite often used to make statements which pose threat to the unity and integrity of the nation.
Talking about rural electrification work in his constituency, the Lok Sabha MP from Katihar seat said that only 414 villages are left un-electrified, at present, in Katihar.
These villages would be electrified by the end of June this year, he said.
On UP assembly polls, the senior NCP leader said that one can easily gauge the pulse of the polls in UP and its results with the fact that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been "forced" to undertake "roadshow" in his own parliamentary constituency of Varanasi.
