The task force on employment data will submit its report to Prime Minister's Office (PMO) soon, Labour and Employment Minister Bandaru Dattatreya said today.
The PMO in May constituted the task force under Niti Aayog Vice-Chairman Arvind Panagariya to suggest solutions for having reliable and timely job data for policy making.
"The task force will submit its report shortly," the labour minister said.
The task force has had four meetings so far and Panagariya had made a presentation before the PMO on June 20.
Recently, Panagariya had said that the task force was likely to recommend a complete revamp of the country's data collection system.
"We are going to recommend actually a full revamp (of data collection). We need to have more frequent household surveys, which will be at least annual, possibly some quarterly element to it," Panagariya had suggested.
He had also called for establishment or enterprise surveys to be conducted annually.
