Union Urban Development Ministry has constituted a Task Force comprising senior officials of Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and the three Municipal Corporations of Delhi (MCD) to reconcile the properties under custody of DDA by November 17.
DDA has agreed to furnish all available information regarding leased and rented properties to respective MCDs. Both the sides agreed that there were no issues regarding levying tax on staff quarters of DDA, said a senior UD Ministry official.
Disputes relating to property tax between DDA and the three MCDs were discussed at length in a meeting chaired by UD department Additional Secretary Durga Shanker Mishra.
The meeting was attended by Vice-Chairman of DDA and Commissioners of North, South and East Delhi Municipal Corporations and other concerned senior officials.
The meeting was convened in the backdrop of claims of dues from each other by DDA and Municipal Corporations.
Discussions in the meeting related to collection of Property Tax on properties and lands belonging to DDA including its office buildings, staff quarters, leased and rented properties, community halls and sports complexes and vacant lands.
After discussing broad principles of levying tax on community halls, sports complexes and vacant lands under the custody of DDA, both sides have decided to meet on Monday next week to take a final view in this regard.
