As a first step of this technological collaboration, the two entities will work in areas of mutual interest, with an aim to cater to the future engineering needs of the industry and academia, as per a release issued today.
Tata Motors and IIT Varanasi have signed an initial pact, which will be valid for five years, to give effect to the partnership, under which joint R&D projects will also be undertaken for the development of new technologies in various engineering domains, the release said.
"With fast-changing technologies and market conditions, we understand the need to articulate a clear roadmap towards a world-class, competent, talented and innovative workforce," Chandel added.
This partnership will help Tata Motors bridge the gap between academic excellence and business know-how, to create industry ready resources besides supporting Make in India, Skill India and Startup India programmes, he said.
