Tata Motors shares surge nearly 3%

The stock was the top-gainer among the 30-Sensex components

Shares of auto major Tata Motors Tuesday bounced back, rising by nearly 3%, on value-buying at lower level.

Defying the weak broader market trend, the blue-chip stock gained 2.63% to end at Rs 372.80 on BSE. During the day, it climbed 4.12% to Rs 378.25.

At NSE, shares of the company jumped 2.51% to close at Rs 372.45.

On the volume front, 6 lakh shares of the company changed hands at BSE and over 93 lakh shares were traded at NSE during the day.

The stock had fallen by nearly 4% in the previous session also.

Value-buying at lower level fuelled buying in the stock today.

In the broader market, the BSE Sensex ended at 24,900.46, down 65.94 points.
