Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Legislative Council Vinod Tawde today said the proposed railway fare hike was too taxing for Mumbaikars and should be reconsidered.
Tawde said he requested party president and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to reconsider the proposal.
"Rajnath Singh assured that he would talk to the Railway Minister and Prime Minister," the BJP leader said expressing confidence that the proposal would be reconsidered.
Yesterday, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray had also termed the fare hike as "shocking" and said he would speak to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and request him to roll it back.
