Christina Grimmie' fans have slammed the 2016 Teen Choice Awards for not mentioning the singer in the section honouring the victims of gun violence.
Grimmie, 22, was shot four times by 27-year-old Kevin James in James Loibl while she signed autographs following her performance with Before You Exit at The Plaza Live in Orlando.
The Teen Choice Awards ceremony paid homage to victims of gun violence but some people noticed that Grimmie was omitted from the segment.
It also upset fans that the show didn't announce her Choice Web Star: Music win during the live broadcast, reported Aceshowbiz.
"Disappointed that @TeenChoiceFOX didn't even announce who won #ChoiceMusicWebStar. Why have the award up if you're not going to announce it?" a user tweeted.
Another wrote, "So the TCA's essentially nominated Christina Grimmie after her death for promo and never even mentioned her name on air? Gross & corrupt."
"christina grimmie, a victim of gun violence, did not get one mention at the TCAs after being exploited for views and tweets," a twitterati posted.
"The fact that they used Christina grimmie to promote this award show is disgusting they haven't even mentioned her I'm done," a fan posted.
A source close to Grimmie said that he/she's disappointed that the show "chose not to mention Christina's name during the two-hour broadcast." The source adds, "The fans have a right to be upset."
Grimmie's team, however, has not commented on the late singer's omission from the broadcast and chose to celebrate her win instead by retweeting other users' posts.
