The Patkapara tea garden in Alipurduar district re-opened today after being closed for 80 days.
Tea Garden management sources said the employees of the Dooars-based gardens will be given Rs 300 each and due ration and wages after re-opening.
The joint committee of plantation workers' spokesman Nirmal Das said the union will not allow the management to dispose off rotting ration food stacked in godowns in past two and half months.
The management had closed the tea garden due to financial reasons.
