The teacher, Rajesh Gupta, was shot at in the temple and back by another teacher Srikant Sharma after an exchange of angry words between the two, police sources said.
Gupta was admitted to hospital while Sharma was absconding, they said.
In another incident, a class VI student of a school in Hydernagar police station area Inzmam-ul-Haq's right hand was fractured after a teacher allegedly beat him up for laughing in class yesterday, the sources said.
The student was admitted to a nursing home.
