Teaching staff to get April salary soon: Pb Min

The Accountant General (AG) Office has issued permanent drawing and disbursing powers which will not require fresh sanction every April for release of teachers salaries in the state, Punjab government today said.
"AG Office today issued permanent Drawing and Disbursing powers that wouldn't require fresh sanction every April causing delay of salaries to teaching staff," Punjab Education Minister Daljit Singh Cheema said in a release.
Cheema said every year file was moved in April for renewal of DDO powers and till the finance department cleared the file, there was usual delay of one month.
The DDO powers have been issued and now, the department employees would get their salaries very soon, said DPI (Secondary Education) Balbir Singh.
