The incident occurred when Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was replying to a Calling Attention on the need for the state's intervention to protect public sector Hindustan Newsprint Limited in Kochi, which is listed for privatisation by the Centre.
As soon as Vijayan completed the reply, Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan informed the House that he was adjourning the House for some time due to some technical problem.
When contacted, the Speaker's office said that the sound system in the House was affected because of a minor technical fault.
Later, the House re-assembled after rectifying the issue and continued the session.
